Blog Integration, RSS Feeds, Twitter Feeds

Blog Integration with your Website

If you either have a blog or are planning to start blogging we can help make your blog an integral part of your online marketing. There are essentially 3 options available to you:

  • The standalone blog - In this instance your blog is completely independent from your website and is hosted by the likes of Blogger or BlogSpot. We can help you format your blog so it is consistent with your website design. They will therefore compliment each other visually.
  • Standalone but linked - In this case your blog is still hosted by the like of Google's Blogger and we will again help you to format it. We will though, in this instance, create a visible link to the blog from your websites other navigation buttons. It will appear as if your blog is another page of your website.
  • Integrated - Finally the integrated blog is where we use something like Wordpress software and integrate it into your website. It appears as a page of your website but is also hosted with your website. One of the advantages of the integrated blog is that the search engines see frequent blog posts as regular updates to your websites content.

An Integrated Blog Example

The Fair Play disabled children's centre, Chesterfield is a website we designed and built a few years ago. Sometime after they asked us to add WordPress blogging software into the website. We also created a summary of the latest 3 posts on the website home page. To visit the Fair Play website click here >>

RSS Feeds

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds allow you to have bang up to date content on the front page of your website. The RSS feed can be sourced from an external website like the BBC News or the Financial Times website or we can create an RSS feed from your blog and provide a snippet from your latest blog posts which allow users to click through to your blog to read the full post.

An example of an external RSS feeds can be found here on the Belper Independent Financial Services website. On the right hand side of the front page we have set up a feed with the latest items from BBC Business.
